On the death of a legend
I sit and wonder what can I do
who can I be, what am I meant
What is my purpose, my destiny
my calling, my role in this play
Are the cameras still going to be rolling
Or will the tape be cut short
Will what I have done so far be well
received, will it be valuable or will it
be thrown out and be deemed
I’d rather not know
But if I must, If I could, If I may
I want my life to be a shining example
And not a burning shame of warning.
A cautionary tale of the corrupt and lost.
No… I want to be safe from the claws of death
Instead I want immortality, in the books of time.
